And... no new update, actually not quite true. We have the soc-med and website badges up.

I have been busy with recording, composing and arranging.

FINALLY! The lovely NextOS Purple is in place, a battle of mad and irritating war I can assure you. But resolved now.

The green font is, er... green. Pretty much acidic and somewhat horrific I admit, again, I will test some hues. The black bg is fairly fixed in place, it may be tweaked. I will post a separate note on the whole design and format later.

Anyway, the place is looking good imho and will be refined when our house Digital Art and Web Comms team can be dragged away from whatever the hell it is they are currently doing.

This place is quiet.

Very quiet.

Like the grave.

I like it.

Well, I'm still hacking, (both metaphorically and literally) away at the basic vibe of the board - And for at least now, I will pause and let this one settle in. I have a scheme in mind but I am not an expert at beating sense into forum templates, and disaster's lurk for the unfamiliar, keen amateur. So a rather dark yet vibrantly garish home it is for now.

I am sure it will change and look fucking awesome.

It's all you deserve.

Old Magnolia Studios will be updating with tid-bits and wildly unprovable gossip, general Rock and Roll horror stories and news of the recordings currently under way for the next Smash Hit from Western Democracy, the inanityUKMusic project and sonic sledgehammer of rock, blues, fissile material and pounding grooves.

The amps are glowing - the needles are in the red, audio gear is being re-assembled, mic positions aligned and the mood is high with creative promise.

As we await the great tsunami of posters the battle with weirdness and forum tonal structure continues. I will not labour the point but someone needs to get a grip with simple styling features. Themes are one thing, and I am pretty sure I have inadvertently broken chunks of css somewhere. But fuck it. It's freeware and I am half blind, so what do you expect.

On a positive note: The new headphone cushions are here. And will be affixed. And I am looking forward to restoring the NAD amp and Mission speakers in Old Magnolia Studios. A vast improvement for playback monitoring. Hopefully.

about inanityUK Forum / What the Forum is all about
Last post by jeremy - Nov 13, 2024, 10:53 PM
Welcome to: inanityUKForum - About this Forum:

This Forum: inanityUK is a place for my inanityUK web presence -  to post about the projects I run at:

inanity.co.uk : Mainly a repository of writing projects and some audio and video projects plus some photos.

western-democracy.com : The home of inanityUKMusic - This is where the music project output lives.\\

old-magnolia-studios.co.uk : The home of the music recoding and studio project. A mirror as regards the music content at WD, but with occasional posts on the studio, its set up, types of guitar picks etc, and work methods, furniture, current selection of beers and wines. Musician stuff.

This Forum is a place to post about these creative workings and maybe meet some like-minded musicians, writers, photographers.

All is in a constant state of development, change and expansion - A bit like the universe I suppose. Controlled unfortunately by mere mortal me.

More anon.

Oki- doki. Still testing and running checks over various Themes. No real preference just yet, the issue is having a good, clear, top notch look and feel, that works for me (extremely visually impaired) and the the rest of the watching, fully sighted world.

All will be trialed on sighted testers then tweaked as needed.

Next question: In the age of a myriad social media platforms, where both huge and small communities now thrive, and if we're honest, also perish, why the fuck fire up ye olde bb Board - It isn't a winning proposition you may think.

In this case the answer is that whilst I do pop by the soc-med sites, and have my WP Blogs as my principal platforms for personal work, I feel that a consolidated forum for anyone to join and post on, regarding my work and theirs if they wish, is a more practical solution to rando comments on a WP Blog from drifters and probably one hit wonders.

Anyway, this is where a regular, as in monthly, delivery of my output will appear.

If it has caught your eye - please sign up, register and hang out. We would be glad of your presence here.

Welcome onboard lads, (entity)

Much to do - A new Theme will be run out and trialed.

Hopefully not reducing the Forum to a bomb site.

But these things do happen.

Also, is this ok for mobile - It seems and feels ok, but it maybe worth seeing what's on offers to enhance the UI
